Hi there Louisa,

I do very much like the story of your being out there spekking amongst all those interesting rocks en route to Queensland from the Northern Territory. Thank you.

And I like the way you gave us descriptive photographs to help better appreciate your pleasure in the process of spekking. Good on you for being able to change your ways of approaching your life as you become older. I'm doing lots of that also and it is leading me to learning about and doing things I've never done before. May you keep on keeping on simply being.....Noni x

Yes Noni. Lifelong learners. The key to us still having meaningful lives. 👍

I love this story. I love that you shared the joy you felt when you realised there are so many more things you can do, new things too, despite getting older. You are now a speccologist extraordinaire!!

Thanks Allie. Yes, it is shifting the thoughts. So much to look forward to.

I enjoy reading all your outback adventures. Fossicking and bird watching give your trips a focus, after long days on rough roads

Thanks Cathy. It’s good to have a focus/a quest or the driving could become a bit mundane. I’m stopping all the time on the road to look closely or photograph.

Brilliant story Lou. Never say never! So glad the switch from fossicking to spekking worked out so well for you. Sideways thinking and adaptation as we age is a great solution.

I like that . I always used to write on CVs ‘flexible and adaptable’. Guess I’d just go ‘adaptable’ now. 😏

Chortling over your churt creek I am. Very descriptive pondering is good for the brain even when the limbs are no longer up for a good dig. Thanks Lou
